Zooskizzen 7 Bosemans-Regenbogenfisch (rainbowfish

Zoodrawing is a special course that takes place every Friday during the second year our Scientific Visualization studies. This entire day we spend at the Zürich Zoological Garden (Zürich Zoologischer Garten) and are free to draw whatever we want in order to school our observation skills as well as to deal with objects that don't move and find a way to cope with that. Our professor then visits us at the place where we draw and gives us helpful advice and feedback on our work. The Zoo is very supporting to our studies and a partner institution, so therefor they give us free entrance the entire week in order to allow us to practice our skills.

Staying with fish, I decided to draw some rainbowfish. Boseman's rainbowfish to be exactly. The dark aquarium was a good opportunity to draw those colorful fish in a relatively dark aquarium where their colors were able to pop, especially when showing off against other males. The males got a purplish or blueish gray front with an orange read rear and a bulky back whilst the females are less colorful and got a less bulky back.
