Description

A sketch I did when I visited Làtrabjarg in Iceland 2013. It was really great to observe all those nesting birds in the cliffs. I especially liked the Atlantic puffins (Fratercula arctica) that allowed to get near them as long as you stay low. Really cute birds with splendidly colored beaks. The markings around their eyes with the white faces, bright reddish beak and black "suit" sorta remind me of a sad clown.

I did this pencil sketch back in 2013 and whilst going through my sketchbook yesterday, I found it again and decided to polish it a bit in order to color it really quickly in Photoshop afterwards.

Atlantic puffin or also called Common puffin (Fratercula arctica). Papageitaucher in German.
