Zooskizzen 8 Humboldtpinguin (Humboldt penguin)

Zoodrawing is a special course that takes place every Friday during the second year our Scientific Visualization studies. This entire day we spend at the Zürich Zoological Garden (Zürich Zoologischer Garten) and are free to draw whatever we want in order to school our observation skills as well as to deal with objects that don't move and find a way to cope with that. Our professor then visits us at the place where we draw and gives us helpful advice and feedback on our work. The Zoo is very supporting to our studies and a partner institution, so therefor they give us free entrance the entire week in order to allow us to practice our skills.

Painting some Humboldt penguins today. I noticed that especially under water, there are some interesting water effects I tried to catch. The penguin's black and white feathers provided a great contrast. I learned a lot here! Sadly my scanner fucked up the water's colors somehow, so it would be more greenish but I'll see if I can fix that.
