Description

Zoodrawing is a special course that takes place every Friday during the second year our Scientific Visualization studies. This entire day we spend at the Zürich Zoological Garden (Zürich Zoologischer Garten) and are free to draw whatever we want in order to school our observation skills as well as to deal with objects that don't move and find a way to cope with that. Our professor then visits us at the place where we draw and gives us helpful advice and feedback on our work. The Zoo is very supporting to our studies and a partner institution, so therefor they give us free entrance the entire week in order to allow us to practice our skills.

Fourth day at the zoo and again using watercolors. This day I've spent the day at the Asian park with the different Artiodactyls. The animals were rather calm and good to draw from the walls you can sit on whilst they where taking a nap. Sometimes the adult nilgai even tried to lick my shoes. The quality of the sketches got better but still, I'm starting to see the problem of monochrome drawings and shadows just drawn with more black.
Also here a lot of kids screaming "BAMBI!!!" that were a bit annoying and teens coming along with a fucking ghettoblaster but otherwise a nice place.

Nilgai or also called Nilgau (Boselaphus tragocamelus). Nilgauantilope in German.
Eld's deer o also called Thamin deer or Brow-antlered deer (Cervus eldi thamin or Panolia eldii). Burma-Leierhirsch in German.
Goitered gazelle or also called Black-tailed gazelle (Gazella subgutturosa subgutturosa). Persische Kropfgazelle in German.
