Donara

Another self made creature from the world of Sanghelios, named Donara.

This flying creature is an restless opportunist searching all day long large territories for food. Though it hunts small animals on the ground, it mostly lives as a scavenger and flies long distances permanently looking at the ground for dying or already dead creatures. Despite it's splendid colors, this is a cunning and nasty creature, often stealing the prey of smaller predators. It inflates it's purple throat sac, spreads it's tail showing the false eyes on it and makes a tremendous noise to make itself appear bigger and more dangerous than it truly is, in order to put the predators and other gliders into flight, having the crcass for itself.
Though the Donara isn't very dangerous for an adult and healthy Sangheili, this scavenger can be a plague, often trying to steal food supplies or attacking weak or young cattle. This species or at least subspecies of the Donara can be found all over Sanghelios inhabiting nearly all regions, from the hot deserts, cliffy mountains, oceanic coasts, wide savannahs to the more rare forests.
